Multiple tornadoes swept across Maryland on Wednesday, including one in Montgomery County that trapped five people in a Gaithersburg home and sent one person to the hospital with traumatic injuries, according to a Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesperson. Tornadoes were also reported north of Leesburg, Va. and east of Baltimore. As of 10:30 p.m., the threat to the D.C. area had passed, but warnings remained in northeastern Maryland.
