Paris Paralympics 2020 Day 4 LIVE: India will aim to secure more medals on 1 September (Day 4) with three finals scheduled and three more medal matches possible. So far India have won five medals at the Paris Paralympics 2024 with Rubina Francis winning a bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol SH1 event. Overall India have won one gold, one silver, and three bronze.
Avani Lekhara who won the only gold medal will be back in action on Sunday with Sidharth Banu in the Mixed 10m Rifle Prone qualification, with the final also scheduled to take place today, while Ravi Rangoli (Shot put F40), Nishad Kumar and Rampal (High jump T47) and Preethi Pal (200m T35) will take part in athletics medal events.
Another medal hope is archer Rakesh Kumar in the men’s individual compound, He will start his day with the 1/8 elimination round.
India are already assured of a medal in badminton with Suhas Yathiraj and Sukant Kadam facing each other in the men’s singles SL4 semi-finals on Sunday. The winner of the match will be assured of at least a silver. Thulasimathi Murugesan (SU5) and Nitesh Kumar (SL3) also compete in badminton semi-finals and will be assured of medals with victories in their respective matches.
