Citroen has rolled out a significant update for the C3 Aircross SUV that includes new features, a new engine option and a new name. Citroen Aircross SUV new features
The most crucial update on the Aircross is the addition of automatic climate control and LED headlamps on the top-spec trims. Citroen has also relocated the rear power-window buttons from the centre console to the rear door pads, added a rear AC vent, a new grab handle on the passenger side, electrically folding wing mirrors, a new flip key, a larger sliding front armrest, and soft-touch material on the dashboard. These updates, although pretty late, surely improve the value proposition of the SUV. On the safety front, Citroen has made 6 airbags and seat belt reminders for all seats standard.
Other features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, rear parking camera with sensors and hill-start assist. The higher-spec Plus and Max trims can also be optioned with a third row for an additional Rs 35,000.
Citroen Aircross SUV new engine option
Citroen has introduced the 82hp, 115Nm 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that was already on offer with the C3 hatchback. Offered with just a 5-speed manual gearbox, this has allowed Citroen to lower the Aircross’ starting price.
The 110hp, 190Nm 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine continues as before, and comes mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The Aircross SUV rivals the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and Honda Elevate, but is positioned towards the lower spectrum of this segment.
